Since 2019, Andeg community activists and volunteers working at the Krasniy Gorod visitor center have been collecting garbage left by tourists and fishermen at the banks of the Pechora River to prevent it from being washed away into the Barents Sea by meltwater. Andeg and Nelmin-Nos are fishermen’s villages whose water supply relies exclusively on the Pechora River.
